Background of the Study
As the global job market continues to evolve, universities must find innovative ways to support their graduates in securing meaningful employment. AI-based job recommendation systems have emerged as a powerful tool to bridge the gap between university graduates and potential employers by offering personalized job recommendations based on the graduates’ academic profiles, skills, interests, and career goals (Zhou et al., 2023). These systems use machine learning algorithms to analyze large amounts of data from both job seekers and employers, matching the most suitable candidates with job openings in real-time (Nguyen & Trinh, 2023). The AI-driven approach allows for better targeting of job opportunities and provides valuable insights into labor market trends.
At Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina State, such a system could offer a unique service to graduates, enhancing their chances of securing employment and supporting the university’s mission of providing career support to its students (Aliyu & Bello, 2023). This study aims to develop and analyze an AI-based job recommendation system tailored to the needs of graduates from Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, evaluating its effectiveness in improving graduate employment outcomes.
